Our final event of 2025 was a special Holiday edition of community storytelling. Six funny, authentic, charismatic community members told a story about a particular Holiday that shaped their lives. S.E. Elkins (Pioneer Day); Nancy King (Hanukkah), Wayne Lee (Fourth of July), Alfredo Celedón Luján (New Mexico Christmas), Issa Nyaphaga* (Kwanzaa), and Violet Stone Gutierrez (40th Birthday) helped us celebrate this Holiday Season with joy, laughter, and lots to contemplate!

Zeyn's award-winning novels, Map of Salt and Stars and The Thirty Names of Night, as well as their essay in the anthology, Both/And were the jumping off points for a deep conversation on Trans futurisms and the journeys to finding oneself and one's vision for what that future holds for all of us.

The audience sat rapt as Paul Andrew Hutton and fellow narrative historian Hampton Sides relayed the stories that defined the first epoch of American history through seven main protagonists—Daniel Boone, Red Eagle, Davy Crockett, Mangas Coloradas, Kit Carson, Sitting Bull, and William “Buffalo Bill” Cody. Their conversation was fascinating and fast-paced as we learned about the truth behind America’s great creation myth.
