Hunger is a growing crisis in Northern New Mexico. With the long-lasting, ripple effects of COVID-19, it is projected that one of every five people and one of every three children will be affected by food insecurity in our state in 2020.-- The Food Depot, Santa Fe serving Northern New Mexico communities.
Sharman will begin by talking about hunger in the United States, as well as the work of New Mexico's Roadrunner Food Bank. She first wrote about Roadrunner in her Hunger: An Unnatural History (Basic Books, 2005) and remembers well that long-ago visit to its warehouse.
