About the Event

New Mexico’s Palace of the Governors: Highlights from the Collections draws from the Palace of the Governors’ diverse and vast collections including early and contemporary photography, rare maps and books, historical artifacts and objects, and traditional and contemporary Spanish and Latin American religious art to collectively document the complex history of New Mexico. Approximately 200 objects—including never-before-seen treasures—were selected by curators and museum staff representing the Fray Angélico Chávez Library, Palace Press, and Photo Archives. The book is companion to an exhibition titled “A Past Rediscovered” currently at the Albuquerque Museum.
