About the Event
Joseph Traugott is an independent art historian, curator, and author. In 2003, he retired from the New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe after thirty years of curatorial work. He recently collaborated with Patrick Nagatani on his final book,Buried Cars: Excavations from Stonehenge to the Grand Canyon. His other books include Painted Reflections: Isomeric Design in Ancestral Pueblo Pottery with Scott G. Ortman, New Mexico Art Through Time: Prehistory to the Present, and The Art of New Mexico: How the West Is One.
Don J. Usner was born and raised in New Mexico. He has written and provided photographs for several books, including, most recently (with Kate Ware and Daniel Kosharek), ¡Órale! Lowrider: Custom Made in New Mexico; and Chasing Dichos through Chimayó. Other books by Usner include, with William deBuys, Valles Caldera: A Vision for New Mexico’s National Preserve; New Mexico Route 66 On Tour: Legendary Architecture from Glenrio to Gallup; and Benigna’s Chimayó: Cuentos from the Old Plaza.
