About the Event

Jeffrey Levine is the author of three books of poetry: Rumor of Cortez, nominated for a 2006 Los Angeles Times Literary Award in Poetry, Mortal, Everlasting, which won the 2002 Transcontinental Poetry Prize, and his most recent work, At the Kinnegad Home for the Bewildered. In addition to his own writing, he is principal translator of Canto General, Pablo Neruda’s major work.

Ilya Kaminsky was born in Ukraine. An award winning poet, he is the author of Dancing in Odessa and the forthcoming Deaf Republic. Among his awards are a Lannan Foundation Fellowship and the Dorset Prize.

Katie Farris is an award-winning fiction writer, poet, and translator. She is the author of the hybrid-form text boysgirls and her new work Mother Superior in Hell will be out this year. She is the translator of several books of poetry from the French, Chinese, and Russian. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at San Diego State University.
