About the Event

A long-overdue tribute to flamenco legend María Benítez, including almost 200 rare and exclusive images from locally famous to world-renowned photographers, all showcasing Benítez's central role in New Mexico culture and dance history. Select works from the book will hang in the CW Gallery for the month of September.

About the Author: Jaima Chevalier is a native of Santa Fe, New Mexico, with deep ties to her home state. In addition to writing, Chevalier directed the documentary Veiled Lightning and worked as an Associate Producer on the documentary El Corazon de Santa Fe, produced by Silver Horn Entertainment (now Silver Horn Media). Her love for her home state has driven her to produce about 300 hours of video footage of notable New Mexicans from all around the state. She has also written articles about the state and its people for various periodicals and books.
