Unleashing Oppenheimer traces the creation of Nolan’s latest film from script to screen through exclusive interviews with the director and his cast and crew, plus electrifying visuals from the film including on-set photos, concept art, research materials, and storyboards.

Along with the interviews, you'll find an extensive recounting of the challenges that Nolan and the "Oppenheimer" crew faced in creating the historically accurate and compelling story of how the man affectionately known as Oppie created a true weapon of mass destruction and became haunted by it for the rest of his life. From finding a location that could sustain a recreation of the manufactured town of Los Alamos to actually shooting in the real-life New Mexico location and everything in between, this book digs into all the nooks and crannies with fascinating insights and details.

About the Author

Jada Yuan is a writer for The Washington Post's Style section with a focus on national politics. She spent 2018 circumnavigating the globe as the inaugural 52 Places Traveler for the New York Times, reporting on every destination in the paper's annual "52 Places to Go" list during a single year. That meant writing weekly columns while shooting her own photographs and video, and soaking up this incredible chance to meet kind people across six continents. Before that, she spent over a decade as a contributing editor and culture feature writer for New York Magazine and its websites. While there, she covered film festivals around the world, presidential conventions and the protests in Ferguson, Mo., as well as wrote essays about feminism and Asian American representation in film and television. Her cover stories and feature profiles have included Stevie Nicks, Samuel L. Jackson, Ava DuVernay and Bill Murray. Jada has also freelanced for a number of magazines, including Bloomberg Businessweek, Elle, Glamour and Vogue. She grew up in Pojoaque, N.M., a rural valley between Los Alamos and Santa Fe, with dueling interests in science, music, visual arts and enchiladas.
