About the Event

On the Path of Marigolds: Living Traditions of México’s Day of the Dead, by photographer Ann Murdy is a beautiful, authentic, and soulful depiction of the Day of the Dead/El día de los muertos as celebrated in 3 towns in México, Teotitlán del Valle in Oaxaca, Huaquechula in Puebla, and Lake Pátzcuaro in Michoacán. Ann has been documenting these rituals for more than 20 years. The book includes 90 stunning photographs, an essay by Denise Chávez, and a conversation with Ann and Cesáreo Moreno, visual arts director and curator at the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago.
