Dr. Patricia Trujillo, professor of Latina/Latino literature and Deputy Cabinet Secretary for Higher Education, joins beloved writer Sandra Cisneros for a lively and heartfelt conversation about her life’s work and the book that has touched millions, The House on Mango Street.
This summer, The Glimmerglass Festival debuted The House on Mango Street, an opera inspired by the book. Nearly forty years after its release, this coming-of-age story about young Esperanza and her neighborhood still resonates with readers of all ages, offering wisdom about identity, family, and finding one’s voice.
