The legendary feminist and revolutionary Margaret Randall once again turns her eye to keen, insightful poetry. Stormclouds Like Unkept Promises is both political and personal as one, with turns into mythology and language. For the first time, this book publishes Randall alongside her longtime partner (now wife), the visual artist Barbara Byers, whose boldly textured black-and-white photography accompanies the written work. Their brilliance, put together, results in a collection with all the power and beauty of a looming storm. Margaret Randall is a feminst activist, author, editor, and translator of nearly 200 books. Barbara is a former teacher, an artist and builder of objects.

You can order Stormclouds online here, or get your signed copy by both Margaret and Barbara in-store.

Pura Puta, the debut collection from slam champion Anna C. Martinez, tells the many stories of Woman—sensual, erotic, visceral, tragic, and always, always powerful—through Martinez’s own life and the other women in her family in Los Angeles and northern New Mexico. The pieces dance with the unmistakable cadence of performance poetry and spring forth both tears and exuberance. Nearly nothing in this book is easy, because her life has not been easy either. But triumph counters trauma, and the poems return always to an eternal freedom, hard-earned through all the stages of her life. These are stories that need heard, from a poet who demands your full heart. Anna C. Martinez is a slam/performance/ competitive poet and civil rights attorney.

Pura Puta is slated for release on June 7, 2022 but we'll have signed copies in store for this special event. Or you can pre-order copies online here.

Desert Apocrypha is a testament to the secret life of making new things, when poets become who they really are, outracing and dodging expectation and fashion and consensus, unencumbered by workshops, teachers, even special readers, allowing themselves to say what’s in them to be said. Zach Hively knows the metaphor of the desert by heart, both the hermit’s retreat and the paths of pilgrims and death-defying explorers. That is why his poems are so richly spare, so warmly restrained that metaphor replaces stone and distance as it flows from the underground as apocrypha, as products of authenticity, outside the canon, saying through him what only he can say." Zach Hively is an award-winning columnist, creative nonfiction writer, journalist, musician, and poet.

You can order copies of Desert Apocrypha online here or get your signed copy in-store.
