A special evening with Forrest Fenn, in conversation with friends and fellow authors Michael McGarrity and Douglas Preston.
Forrest Fenn's memoir, The Thrill of the Chase, which includes clues to finding a treasure chest full of gold, has recently gained international media attention, including The Today Show, the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, and Good Morning America. This event will be a celebration of the book's enormous success and will give treasure hunters and fans a chance to meet Mr. Fenn in person.
Mr. Fenn will be joined by two best-selling authors, Michael McGarrity and Douglas Preston. Michael McGarrity, a former deputy sheriff of Santa Fe County, is the author of over a dozen best-sellers, including "Hard Country", which is one of Collected Works' all-time bestselling novels. Douglas Preston has authored and co-authored (with Lincoln Child) dozens of books, both fiction and non-fiction, including "The Monster of Florence", currently in development to be made into a film starring George Clooney. Forrest Fenn showed his treasure to Douglas Preston before hiding it somewhere in the mountains north of Santa Fe.
This book is the remarkable true story of Forrest Fenn's life and of a hidden treasure, secreted somewhere in the mountains north of Santa Fe. The book contains clues to the treasure's location as Forrest Fenn invites readers to join in The Thrill of the Chase.
This memoir includes a true story about a secret treasure and an outrageous dare. “Unlock the clues that are scattered among these pages and you can go home with a bronze chest that is so full of gold and precious jewelry that it’s almost too heavy for one person to carry.” Forrest has said that if he were younger, he’d go back and get it himself.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1970, the author built an art gallery in Santa Fe that he and his wife ran for seventeen years. Since retiring again in 1988, his energies have been directed toward excavation of a large Indian pueblo and writing books about art and exploration. This is his eighth book and now he has promised to rest, but he has broken that promise several times before.
