Collected Works Bookstore presents local Santa Fe legend and modern master of rhymed verse Rosé for a book signing of his latest publication “The Pearl Upon the Crown: Eight Cantos."
Born Sanford Cohen in the Bronx, New York in 1934, the poet renamed himself Rosé when he began performing as a poet and storyteller in the tradition of the ultra-hip Lord Buckley, harking back to the oral roots of epic poetry.
Rosé had a variety of life experiences that led him to different jobs and educational opportunities. He performs as a stand-up poet in salons, homes, theatres, clubs, sushi bars, on radio and television in New York, LA, Miami and Santa Fe. His best known performance was at the United Nations in New York City in conjunction with an exhibit he organized and produced, “Swords into Plowshares, Tony Price: Atomic Art Exhibition.” He is the author of POETRAITS and his work has appeared in various issues of THE Magazine.
